After we loaded Cody's antelope we checked in with Nate and Hoss and they weren't far away so they met us at the gate and we went through the congratulations and story telling again. We headed back to the house to get the antelope clean and they decided to look for a nice buck for Hoss. Cory and I were doing a fine job of quartering the animal when we heard a shot in the distance and knew Hoss had connected. I've known Hoss over 30 years and Cory over 20 and Nate's my brother so we are pretty familiar with each other so to say there's some bad jokes and smack talking would be an understatement but the worst line of the trip goes to Hoss for this comment that made me laugh. Tucumcari Day 2 Exploring and Coyotes
The main focus of this trip for me and Nate was to get all tags filled first, then do some coyote hunting. I'm convinced I have a New Mexico coyote curse put on me because in three trips to this ranch I have not successfully called up and killed a coyote. I don't consider myself an expert coyote hunter by any means but have called and killed a truck load in my life but something about the ones here make me look like a fool.
