Palm Tree Lagoon, Ratchaburi, Thailand

When I was booking the trip and doing the research for Thailand I was impressed with Palm Tree Lagoon, I knew it was small but we've all fished farm ponds before, except this one had 300 pound fish in it so I thought I could come to terms with fishing two acres. Turns out the two acres wasn't my issue with this place.  On several occasions before arriving I mentioned to John, my guide, a fish that had been caught there that I had seen on facebook and how they had 30+ species in the lake. …

IT Monster Lake: Amphoe Ban Pong, Thailand

Our first day of fishing in Thailand started at IT Monster lake, I'm certain that John our guide booked it this way on purpose. John is a unique individual, he owns BKK Fishing Tour out of Bangkok and because he speaks five languages he takes clients from around the world. He is the only fishing operator in Thailand that speaks Chinese so he basically has that market cornered and because of his knowledge of the US and good English many Americans choose him for their fishing adventures …

Thailand

First off, yes, I would go back. I've been asked the question would I go back more than any other question. My answer is yes and it would be better because of what I learned the first time so hopefully by reading this you can learn a few things and make your trip better.  It's hard to know where to start so I will just start with getting there, from DFW it's gonna cost you between $900-$1100. I personally didn't  think that was a bad price and I'm pretty tight with money. The flight …

Catching Stocked Rainbow Trout

Each winter starting in November Texas Parks and Wildlife Department begins stocking rainbow trout in about 100 locations from five different hatcheries around the state. This is the only chance for a lot of Texas anglers to ever catch a rainbow trout. These fish are fairly easy to catch and are …

Dallas Safari Club Convention: Adventure 2017

The DSC Convention is by far my favorite hunting show to go to. They call it the greatest hunting show on the planet and I'm sure it is but I haven't been to all of them so I can at least say it is the greatest hunting show in my part of the planet.  The first thing I noticed about this years show was that there were no protesters. I have seen them in the past here, especially if the news has a story about an auction for a select animal there, but it was 20 degrees today so I guess they only …
